A Laser Steering Unit

The largest project I worked on at SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) was the design of two laser beam steering units for a unique diagnostic system. The units I designed steered a high powered laser beam from a remote location into a collision point with a stream of electrons. The resulting interactions, between electrons and photons, were examined and used to tune the electron beam. Pictures show the two designs in various states of assembly and can be clicked for larger images. See the presentation below also.
